This month, we’re spotlighting Round Rock, a suburb of Austin, Texas. This week, we’ll be exploring some of the schools in this area north of Austin.
Students in Round Rock attend schools in the highly acclaimed Round Rock ISD district. There are five high schools, ten middle schools and 32 elementary schools serving about 45,000 students in the district. We will profile just a few of these. In the last five years alone, the Round Rock district has grown by almost 15% in terms of enrollment.
The city of Round Rock has three high schools. Round Rock High School’s mascot is the Dragons and their school colors are Maroon and White. Stony Point’s mascot is the Tiger and its colors are blue and gold. Cedar Ridge High School’s mascot is the Raiders and their colors are purple, black and silver.
There are six middle schools in Round Rock. C.D. Fulkes Middle School’s mascot is the Lizards and their colors are maroon and white. Chisholm Trail Middle School’s mascot is the Cougars, its school colors are red, grey and white, and it is ranked Recognized by the TEA. Hernandez Middle School’s mascot is the Bulldogs and its colors are red and gold. Hopewell Middle School’s mascot is the Hornets and its colors are green, black and white. Ridgeview Middle School’s mascot is the Panthers and their colors are navy blue, columbia blue and white. Walsh Middle School’s mascot is the Wildcats, their colors are green and gold, and they are ranked Exemplary.
There are twenty elementary schools in Round Rock. The following are just a few of the Exemplary ranked elementaries in the city. Blackland Prairie Elementary School’s mascot is the Wildcats and its colors are blue and red. Brushy Creek Elementary School’s mascot is the Bluejays and its colors are blue and yellow. Cactus Ranch Elementary’s mascot is the Longhorns and its colors are blue and green. Caldwell Heights’ mascot is the Eagles and its colors are red, white and blue.
