We understand that not every apartment you tour is going to be picture perfect, but when you finally do find one where all the positives outweigh the cosmetic negatives, then you must find the most creative ways to help hide the uninspiring interior. Here are a couple apartment-friendly decorating ideas to help fix up your space and not scare you away from renting what could be the perfect apartment.
If your apartment has the basic wall-to-wall carpeting or outdated linoleum flooring, give your floors a quick makeover by adding a decorative rug to the room. Rugs are not only a great room accessory, but also an important foundation. Do not be afraid to play with rug colors, patterns or shapes. Rugs come in all sizes, leaving you sure to find one that meets your needs.
Nothing is more of a turn off than apartment walls that you just cannot work with. If possible, add some paint for a pop of color. Otherwise, if painting the apartment walls is simply not an option, try installing a temporary product.
Peel and stick products, such as temporary wallpaper, work wonders on kitchen counters, bathroom backsplashes and bedroom accent walls. It is amazing how easy and fast they go on and off, not to mention how much of a difference they transform a space without the risk of damaging your apartment walls. Do not be afraid to hang things on your apartment walls, but remember you must return the walls back to their original state upon move out.
You do not have to own your home to make it your own space, nor does not take a full-scale renovation to transform your apartment. There are plenty of inexpensive products and simple ways to tailor your rental space into your own decor taste.
One of the best ways to streamline your apartment search is to work with a licensed apartment finder in your area. They can help make the process of deciding where to live easier on you while helping you find the apartment that fits your lifestyle, all in your budget. Give us a call, we can help you find that perfect apartment that you love to call home at the end of the day.

All you have to do is jump in a car and drive around to see what type of housing is being built in San Antonio. Multifamily housing, such as apartment communities, accounts for nearly a third of San Antonio’s housing. Of course we know that San Antonio is a great place to live, due to the rising job market and low cost of living, but it is now clear that others has taken notice, even the multifamily developers. As the city continues to attracts more and more renters each year, apartments in San Antonio continue to remain at higher occupancy, driving a sharp rise in rental prices.
Over the past five years the Alamo City has seen an influx in renters driving housing costs at a much faster rate than the state average. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, rent in San Antonio has risen 14% since 2006 and continues to climb. Even though median rental prices all across Texas have risen, they have not risen as rapidly as we have experienced in the Alamo City. The good news is that although rent checks have gotten bigger, San Antonio continues to remain more affordable than larger cities in Texas.
Despite the rapid rise in rent, San Antonio is still has an affordable housing market and provides no shortage of places to rent. Working with a knowledgeable apartment finder can help save you money while guiding you through the entire search process. Give our apartment locators a call and let them help find your next home - for FREE!

We are all familiar with the traditional apartment lease, but what might come to a surprise is that many apartment communities offer shorter leases, month-to-month up to 6-months, than the typical 12-month lease. Finding the right apartment can be a process all on its own, but for those who do not plan to stay in a place long enough to sign a typical lease finding a short term rental has gotten even more challenging. To help make the apartment search process a little simpler here are several benefits and drawbacks to short-term leases, so that you choose the best lease term for your needs.
You Have Options
A huge benefit to a short-term lease is more mobility. Many renters are drawn to renting short-term because of the flexibility to move to another apartment that better suits their needs, after the agreement’s duration, without the penalty of breaking a lease. So whether you have taken a temporary job or are new to a city and want the freedom to explore different neighborhoods, a short-term lease is a very attractive option.
Live The Way You Want
While many renters do not want to worry about moving, many need the reassurance of moving on short notice. One perk to renting month-to-month is the flexibility to either pick up and move, or springboard into a year long lease if you decide to stay put.
Even in a short-term lease you will still need to provide proper notice to your landlord should you decide to move out. A shorter leases term will provide more flexibility, but it is not without regulations and requirements.
Provides Minimal Stability
Signing a short-term lease, such as a month-to-month, can have a negative impact on your rental history. If you are jumping from one month-to-month lease to another it can make you look like a risky credit investment to your next landlord. Too many credit inquiries can tank your credit score, and changing address frequently will leave a bad impression.
Your Rent Can Fluctuate
The freedom to move as you want will come at a higher cost. Landlords prefer long-term residents and the more affordable lease options are those spread out over 12 months or more. Apartment communities will set the rent rate as they see fit in a short-term lease because of the higher turnover in a unit. Most will even charge you more in monthly rent on a short-term lease to help cover the cost of repairs and cleaning after move-out.
A landlord can also change the terms of your short-term lease, after it has expired, which can leave you vulnerable to an increase in rent without enough time to search for other housing options. Short-term leases can sound like a great alternative for those always on the move, but they are not for everybody.
Many apartment communities consider short-term leases risky and not cost-effective, therefore you will have to do some searching to find one. In markets like San Antonio where demand is high your short-term lease options may be reduced. Renting an apartment on a short-term lease might limit your search, but if it important for you then working with a licensed apartment locator in your area who is knowledgeable would be most beneficial.

Just because you live in a small apartment does not mean you have to be a party pooper. Apartment dwellers can still find plenty of creative ways to make the most of their space when it comes to entertaining. For maximum style and fun at your next social event, utilize these top 3 tips to help you get your party started!
Tip 1: Set up multiple drink and food tables
Help eliminate everyone trying to squeeze into your already cramp kitchen by arranging several tables throughout your apartment for the food and drinks. This will also encourage guests to mingle.
Tip 2: Use all your space
Use the vertical space in your apartment wisely. For example organize food or dishes using tiered stands. Create a layout where people can easily navigate around and make more space in your living room. Prepare your space for your guest and do not forget to designate a place for your guest to put down their belongings such as hats, coats, and bags.
Tip 3: Create an additional seating area
Get creative and repurpose items you already own. Need more places to sit, arrange some sofa toss pillows on the floor around your coffee table.
